Chingford is a suburban London district, situated 10 miles north east of Charing Cross. Historically a rural Essex parish, it gained Urban district status in 1894, and between 1938 and 1965 formed the core of the Municipal Borough of Chingford, Chingford now forms part of the north-east London Borough of Waltham Forest. The Chingford area is made up of many character properties dating mostly from the Victorian period onwards. Epping Forest is a natural boundary to the northern side of Chingford around which are some of the most prestigious homes.
As far as leisure activities are concerned, there are several local golf courses, both Chingford(public) and West Essex Golf Course (private), equestrian facilities, Connaught Tennis Club & nearby Buckhurst Hill Tennis Club plus sailing on the King George Reservoir in Chingford.

Chingford is served by a railway station which is the terminus of a branch line from Liverpool Street station in the City of London. There is also a station at Highams Park.
Pole Hill, Chingford, which at its highest point is around 91 metres, offers quite magnificent & extensive views towards London. E4 offers a wide range of sporting activities that include a golf, sailing and tennis club. There is also a major leisure centre offering both swimming and a gym complex. Epping Forest is the obvious open space and there are several parks such as Larkswood and Ridgeway.
There are extensive shopping facilities in Station Road, North Chingford and a number of highly regarded local restaurants of various taste & culture.
