Manor Park is a network of Victorian terraces situated between Forest Gate and Ilford, in the London Borough of Newham.
Most of this area was part of the manor of Little Ilford until it gained a separate identity following the opening of its station. The new suburb took its name from the manor house built around 1810 for the lord of the manor of West Ham on his Ham frith estate.
Wanstead Flats are also close to hand and for shopping; Romford Road is the place to go offering numerous amounts of independent shops including restaurants, fashion, jewellery and just about any service you could think of. Romford Road itself is a major artery across Newham and eastwards onto Romford.
The Earl of Essex is a Grade II listed public house at 616 Romford Road, you should give it a go.
Schools in Manor Park fall under the Newham Local Education Authority. Primary schools standout, as being particularly good, of note is the outstanding Little Ilford School.
The main transport link is Manor Park railway station, which is on the planned Crossrail 1 route. There are currently Abellio Greater Anglia trains running to Liverpool Street station every ten minutes. Also in the area is Woodgrange Park station, which is on the Barking to Gospel Oak line, part of London Overground.
Romford Road is a busy thoroughfare, lined with a wide variety of shops, most of which are independent and cater to a very local catchment area. Towards the Ilford end, the road is noted for its many used-car dealers.
